Probably the messiest time of the year, the monsoons are one of those seasons where you can swear and sing at the same time. All that sexy sari and romance in the rain is just a farce. No such thing happens unless you’re one of those who enjoy rain regardless of whether the world is falling apart around you. Now, the one thing you be alert about is your clothes.
There are mad drivers everywhere and you just cannot expect them to notice if you’re wearing white clothes or new clothes for that matter.
Fashion sense during rain usually reduces to the bare minimum because of the complication involved in it. Embarrassing rain stories have got us rolling on the floor laughing. Priya, journalism students recalls how she had worn a crisp white salwar to her friends birthday party. “I didn’t expect it to rain which is why I decided to be all pretty”.
Much to priya’s horror, the rain came lashing down on her. She was forced to open the birthday gift she had bought for her friend, which was a Superman tee shirt. “I had to wear a bright blue superman shirt over my salwar. It was just very embarrassing!”. Another rain victim, Gautham Nair state’s that drivers are ruthless on the roads and they don’t give a care about people walking. “I always get splashed on by some bugger who has no idea what he’s doing”.
Do’s and don’ts Never wear flip-flopsIt may look harmless but flip flops are a huge no-no. There’s a reason they’re called flip flops, because obviously they flip and flop. And when they do, all the much slaps back at your clothes from behind. It’s a royal pain to just wash them out. So, a strict no-no to flip flops!
Never wear whiteYes, we know its sexy and all but two things that you can end up if you wore white clothes. One, the obvious fact that they get dirty faster and the reason because they become unbelievably transparent. So if you want to avoid embarrassment kindly don’t opt for white.
Carry a plastic bagLife’s a bit more complicated now. Its just not yourself that you need to protect. There’s your I phone, I pad, camera and everything else on those lines. Carrying a plastic cover always helps as you can put these gadgets into the cover.
Drive slow (If you have a vehicle)You aren’t Schumacher to race around roads filled with muck and rain. Remember that there are other people walking on the sidewalk. Slow down your vehicle everytime you reach a junction where its crowded. What goes around comes around! So, don’t complain when this happens to you.
